Affiliate Program Terms
Version 2026-07-14 · plain English on purpose. Agreeing to these is required to join the program — the version you agreed to is recorded with your signup.
1. The program
The SharpenIt affiliate program is run by SharpenIt ("we", "us"). It gives you a personal code to share; people who order with it get a discount, and you earn a commission on their paid orders. These terms are an agreement between you and us, and they apply alongside our site Terms and Privacy Policy.
2. Joining
Anyone can apply with accurate details — real name, an email you control. One code per person. We may decline an application or disable a code at our discretion (see section 8). You must be able to receive payments to an Australian bank account or PayID.
3. Your code
Your code (chosen by you at signup or generated by us) is issued for your use and can't be transferred or sold. Once issued it doesn't change. Codes remain our property; you get the right to share yours while you're in the program.
4. What you earn, what your audience gets
Orders placed with your code get 10% off the sharpening subtotal. You earn $5 AUD for each order that is paid. Commission only exists once an order is actually paid — abandoned carts earn nothing. Current rates apply to new orders; if we change rates we'll email you first, and the change never applies retroactively to orders already placed.
5. Refunds and clawbacks
If an order is refunded or cancelled, its commission is reversed. If we'd already paid you for it, we deduct that amount from your next payout (or may ask for it back if there is no next payout).
6. Payouts
We pay out by bank transfer, PayID or Osko, in AUD, typically monthly once your accrued commission reaches $20. Balances under the threshold roll over — they don't expire while you're in the program. Giving us correct payout details is your responsibility; every payout is listed on your private stats page with its date and reference.
7. Sharing your code — the ground rules
Share it anywhere real people who cook will see it, with one standing rule: don't make us look bad. Specifically, don't:
- use your own code on your own orders (checkout blocks this);
- spam it — unsolicited bulk email/DMs, or bulk-posting to coupon aggregator sites;
- make misleading claims about our service, pricing or turnaround;
- present yourself as SharpenIt rather than a partner of it;
- bid on our brand name in paid search ads.
8. Ending things
You can leave anytime — just tell us and we'll disable your code and pay out anything legitimately owed, even under the threshold. We can suspend or disable a code at any time; if we do so for anything other than fraud or a breach of section 7, commission already accrued is still paid. Commission obtained through fraud or breach is forfeited.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email the address on your signup before the change takes effect. Continuing to share your code after that is acceptance of the new version. The version you originally agreed to stays on record.
10. Relationship and tax
You're an independent partner, not our employee, agent or franchisee. Commissions are referral rewards; any tax treatment (including GST if you're registered) is your responsibility.
11. Your data
We store what you give us at signup — name, email, where you plan to share, payout details — plus your code's order and payout history, and a record of your agreement to these terms (timestamp, version, IP). We use it to run the program and to contact you about it. Details in the Privacy Policy.
12. The legal bit
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Nothing in them limits rights you have under Australian Consumer Law that can't be limited.
