Knife sharpening in Lake Macquarie

Our workshop sits at Arcadia Vale on the lake's western shore — if you're in Lake Macquarie, your knives are sharpened minutes from home, not shipped interstate.

Every blade goes over a slow, water-cooled wheel with a fixed-angle jig, then a leather honing wheel. No heat, no over-grinding, an edge that outlasts anything a shopping-centre pull-through can produce.

Local pickup and return

For postcodes 2280–2285 we collect from your door and return your knives sharpened — flat $25 fee, 5-knife minimum, typically 2–4 days end to end.

Under the pickup minimum?

Pickup needs 5 knives or more, so for one or two blades a prepaid satchel is the way to go — pack, post at any AusPost, and they're back about a week after reaching us. How mail-in works →

Areas we serve around Lake Macquarie

Pickup covers the lake from north to south: Toronto · Warners Bay · Belmont · Swansea · Speers Point · Boolaroo · Cardiff · Rathmines · Arcadia Vale.

How pickup runs work

Order online and we confirm a collection time for your street — usually within a day or two, batched by side of the lake so the fee stays flat. Knives ride to the workshop in blade guards, get photographed, sharpened and honed, and come back to your door. Most pickup orders are home again in 2–4 days.

Being local also means local accountability: if an edge isn't right, we're twenty minutes away, not an interstate returns queue.

Pickup pricing

Per knife it's $15 standard (chef's, santoku, paring, utility, scissors), $20 heavy (meat cleavers, machetes, axes, garden shears, chisels) and $30 premium (Japanese single-bevel, ceramic, exotic steels), plus the flat pickup fee — no postage at all. Full pricing →
