Knife sharpening on the Wangi peninsula
Wangi is about the closest thing our workshop has to a neighbour across the water — the run around from Arcadia Vale is one of the shortest we do, so peninsula pickups slot in often.
Blades go over a slow, water-cooled wheel with a fixed-angle jig and finish on a leather honing wheel: no heat, no over-grinding, an edge with real staying power.
Door-to-door pickup and return
We collect anywhere on the peninsula (postcode 2267) — flat $15 fee, 5-knife minimum, usually 1–2 days door to door. Part of our Lake Macquarie pickup service.
Fewer than 5 knives?
Pickup runs in 5-knife batches — but if we're already collecting nearby, a smaller order can often ride along. Ask us → Otherwise the prepaid satchel takes any quantity, even one knife: post at any AusPost, back about a week later. How mail-in works →

Fillet knives, kitchen sets and local businesses
A good share of the knives that come off the peninsula are fillet knives, and they're treated properly: the flexible blade is sharpened at its own angle on the jig, not flattened against a belt. Fillet, pocket and hunting knives all ride at the standard rate — and garden shears, secateurs and chisels book as heavy blades in the same batch.
The household set of kitchen knives is welcome alongside — that's usually what gets an order past the 5-knife minimum in one go.
Run a café, club kitchen or food business on the peninsula? We do recurring sharpening for local kitchens — reach out through the contact page and we'll sort a schedule.
Pickup pricing
Per knife it's $15 standard (chef's, santoku, paring, utility, fishing, hunting & pocket knives, scissors), $20 heavy (meat cleavers, machetes, axes, garden shears, chisels) and $30 premium (Japanese single-bevel, ceramic, exotic steels), plus the flat $15 pickup fee — no postage at all.
